Description

The Graduate IT Support Technician plays a vital role in assisting the IT Support Engineer with daily support requests, troubleshooting basic technical issues, managing hardware, and ensuring smooth staff onboarding and offboarding processes. This entry-level position is designed for recent graduates eager to build a career in IT support and technical operations. The role requires the applicant to be based in Johannesburg and available to work from the Sandton office when needed. The technician will contribute to system upkeep, documentation, and guided learning while gradually developing independence in handling technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist in responding to first-line support requests across staff devices and software platforms
• Troubleshoot basic user issues such as password resets, authentication problems, laptop and peripheral setup, email and calendar access issues, and network connectivity problems
• Prepare, configure, and maintain laptops and related hardware
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding including account setup, equipment issuing, and returns
• Maintain and update the company IT asset register
• Escalate complex or recurring issues to the IT Support Engineer
• Document solutions and contribute to internal support knowledge bases
• Participate in guided learning to grow technical capability and independence

Qualifications

• Completed qualification in Information Technology
• Completed qualification in Information Systems
• Completed qualification in Network Administration
• Completed qualification in Computer Engineering
• Completed qualification in Business Information Technology
• Completed Systems Support or Technical Support diploma at NQF Level 5 or higher
• Accredited IT support or systems administration certificate program such as CompTIA A+ or N+ advantageous
